10th March Appeal Update:
We’re no longer accepting donations to the appeal.
Thank you to our members, families, and local community for the amazing response that we and other Scout Groups in Eastwood have had. We were overwhelmed with the kindness shown, and reached capacity within just a couple of days.

Dear All,

As Scouts we are committed to peace and international friendship. We believe in our shared values of kindness, care, cooperation and most importantly, respect for all.

We’re joining local Scout Groups to collect donations to send to Poland to support those fleeing conflict in Ukraine.

If you can spare any of the items listed below, please bag up in black sacks or carrier bags and drop them off at our Scout Hall on any evening this week:

  • Camping equipment (sleeping bags, camping mats etc)
  • Blankets
  • Winter/Autumn clothes, boots and shoes
  • Female & Male Jackets
  • Essential Toiletries
  • Tinned Food
  • Dry energy food, protein bars, chocolate, tea & coffee
  • Bottled Water
  • Painkillers and anti inflammatory meds
  • Torches
  • First Aid Kits/Bandages & Basic Meds
  • Newborn Formula/Nappies/Baby Food/Wet Wipes/ Sudocream

We’ll arrange for donations to be collected and taken to the 121st Glasgow (Clarkston) Scout Group where they will be shipped to Poland this Saturday.
We’ll let you know if further collections can be arranged for next week too.

The 28th has a long association with Ukraine through the Scottish Ukraine Experience which helps Ukrainian children to visit Scotland and participate in Scouting during the summer.

We last met the Ukrainian Contingent at the 2017 Auchengillan Jamboree, and are keeping them in our thoughts at this time.

Please make sure to follow us on social media and check our website for updates about this appeal.

Kind Regards

All of the 28th Glasgow (Giffnock) Scout Group team.
